Dean Ashton on talk sport now
Giving an incite into his time with England . Fascinating to learn that the older players did not speak to any off the new players and only John Terry made them feel welcome.

To be fair back then I wouldn't of had much time for Barton teamate or not

Its only the last few years he seems to of calmed down and earned some respect

Why would Lampard need to be nice to Barton ? He was guaranteed in that starting XI no matter what back then

John Terry has managed to go up a tiny bit in my estimations, after hearing that interview. So now Terry has got up to just above the gutter, which is quite a leap, to be fair.

I liked this about Beckham. Considering the amount of shit I've read in the past about how he's good for the dressing room and his presence alone was uplifting.

Turns out he didn't do much at all for Ashton.

Wore that waistcoat well though. Classic three sleeve turn on the arms too. Says business time.

Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now

Yep, Barton had (rightly) had a pop at LAMPSY for releasing a book after the failed world cup where he shot wildly at goal on 24 occasions without scoring (still a record).

When he got called up to England, he went to sit next to LAMPSY to try and make peace, but LAMPSY picked up his food and moved a few seats down.

Barton is clearly a colossal helmet, but LAMPSY is something else.

Oh ok, thought he must have been talking about when he came in and got injured in Aug 2006.
Had forgotten he made the squad again.

Sven, I believe Beckham was one of those mentioned as the two were both in England squads in 2008.

Look at Barton's and Lampard's respective disciplinary records and it's clear which of them is the cunt.

JT - 'Hi guys, great to have you, it's a big step for sure but you're all here on merit'

New boys - 'Thanks John, great to hear'

JT - 'Great! Okay, let's bond a little. Tell me a little about your missus'

Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now
I wouldn't want to lose Bilic to England, if he was allowed the drugs, he might actually be able to take on both jobs, and he would be excellent, because he simply wouldn't have the kind of cunts who ignore new squad members when they join up.

What a shit ambiarnce for a team.

Barton + Terry = A wit

Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now
Barton on Barton didn't have much sense - "one of the best English midfielders".

Unless he meant "one of the 100 best English midfielders".

Terry was simply checking out what their Mrs looked like!

Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now
As much as Terry is a huge cunt, it wasn't hard to see how much he absolutely loved playing for his country and so I'm not surprised he wanted new boys to feel welcome.

Wish a lot of them now had his attitude, haven't had a decent defender since.

Didn't Barton say that Lampard didn't want him to sit with him at breakfast so Barton told him Don't worry I'm not going to eat your breakfast you fat cunt.

Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now
Didn't he get the same cold shoulder treatment, from the Baby Bently crew, when he joined us ?

Sven Roeder 11:18 Wed May 25
Re: Dean Ashton on talk sport now
He was injured at the beginning of the McClaren reign.
Beckham had stood down as captain after the 2006 WC so McClaren had dropped him completely.
Terry was captain & senior players would have been Lampard, A Cole , Gerrard & G Neville.

Lovely fella; John Terry........

I remember Barton saying Lampard was an utter cunt to him when joined up with the squad.
